Living in Southern Maryland
With the Nation’s Capital in our front yard and the Chesapeake Bay in our backyard, there’s no place quite like Southern Maryland. Our charming towns and villages provide something for everyone, whether you’re into the outdoors, technology, history, or shopping.
Learn more about the towns where our communities are located:
Charles County is a few miles from Washington, D.C., and the hub of shopping and commerce in Southern Maryland. Waldorf is home to the region’s mall, St. Charles Towne Center, but there’s plenty to do outdoors, too. The county is on the Potomac River and parks and open areas offer plenty of opportunities to get outside.
Travel south to St. Mary’s County to experience the wide open spaces of Southern Maryland. The county has banks on the Patuxent River, Potomac River, and Chesapeake Bay. Maryland’s oldest history begins here – the first residents landed at St. Mary’s City – but the future is here, too, at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River.
Calvert County is defined by its waterways, with borders on the Chesapeake Bay and Patuxent River. You’ll feel like you’re on permanent vacation if you live in Solomons Island, Chesapeake Beach, or North Beach, or you can be in Washington, D.C., in a short time if you live in northern Calvert County.
When the Guadagnoli family, the family behind Rainbow Homes, relocated their business here in 1975, they quickly knew they had found someplace special. We look forward to helping you make your home in Southern Maryland.
